Layer 9This is a course for beginners and for those who would like to become active crew members not simply passengers. Experience living on board and really get to know the boat. The course is 'hands on'; you are the crew and without you the sails won't go up and the boat won't be steered. You will live aboard for the duration of the course and will get to visit some interesting places and anchorages. You will get to experience at least 4 night hours sailing.

By the end of the course you will be able to steer, handle sails, keep a lookout, row a dinghy and assist in all the day to day duties on board.

  • Course Overview: A course introducing beginners to the fundamentals of sailing.
  • Previous experience required: None
  • Assumed Knowledge: None
  • Minimum Age: None (Under 18’s must be accompanied by a parent.)
  • Ability after the course: Able to steer, handle sails, row a dinghy and assist is day to day routines.
  • What next – go on to complete your Day Skipper course.

Price 790€ including vat

Price Includes:

  • 6 days and 5 nights on board
  • Approximately 125 miles logged
  • Duvet, pillow, bedding and towels
  • Quality home cooked food using local producers (where possible)
  • All breakfasts, lunches and evening meals aboard are included except one evening ashore.
  • A selection of wet weather gear. (S / M / L / XL)
  • Certificate on successful completion
